Ironfist69 - (August 16, 2006) The good doctor was pushing his book on a talk radio show, gave the toll free number and it was a stupid computer! Oh well I pressed on and ordered the book. Two hours later a lady called to verify the order and offered me a "Special" bonus package of three other books for a few dollars more -I bit! I got the three books but not the one I wanted originally I called the company and they ran me around a little and said they would correct the problem they sent the original three books AGAIN and then when I asked them what their problem was they said they justchanged the title of the book and I had received the correct books. If given the chance I would never do business with this guy

nihon4582 - (July 15, 2008) Great story about a man who moved to Japan to be with his girlfriend, become a teacher, and find an authentic Ninjutsu school. This book doesn't hold back when describing life in Japan........it takes a lot of the "exotic" view points of Japan and looks at them realistically. The same can be said about the training in Ninjutsu described. Very factual and straightforward. It's an interesting, true story about someone who took big risks in Japan.

hariold - (March 05, 2007) Epic asventure of a middle aged artist running off to study at the feet of an over-educated shaman in Oaxaca Mexico Good dry humour; satire on New Age religious movements, bumbling black-op government intrusion into the rising spiritual atmosphere...serious commentary on economic political state of the culture; commentaries on the nature of matter and light and mysterious beauty of sentient consciousness...actually covers a lot for a single book. Well worth having about.

The Beach Boys Complete (Sheet music book)
A_E_Marsh - (31-10-2009) Bad news first, you'll find a lot of music that has been published many times in many books previously. If this was complete, that would not be a problem, but with so much more good music from the past (notably the entire "Holland" and "Carl and the Passion - So Tough")missing totally from these pages the title "Complete" is almost insulting, that said.... There are some real gems here that make this so worthwhile, Be true to your school Don't worry, Baby In the Parkin' Lot (minus accapella into and finish) Let him run wild Please let me wonder The warmth of the sun among them that, with bass line and seperate treble and vocal lines this is a good blast from the past. If you have no sheet music of the Beach Boys at all you might be surprised to find classics like Good Vobrations (never good in sheet music form with the middle eight left out!!!) and Heroes and Villians missing. If you are a Beach Boys fan, you will almost be expecting that from a book with this title. By the way, the entire "15 Big Ones" and "Love you" albums are here. If you don't have them it is worth it for those alone. Anyway, I must admit that as a confirmed lover of the Beach Boys music after a while I bought a second copy as the first was getting tatty from overuseSo... Very good - DID purchase again.

books4me - (23-08-2009) For those who like an old-fashioned British mystery, rife with night scenes on the Thames, a Jacobean mansion, quirky, entertaining characters and a cutting wit, Bloody Ham is for you. Kavanagh uses his insider knowledge of the film industry to bring Hollywood to London, with all the big screen politics, film star egos, sexual affairs and (literally) back-stabbing during the creation of an English period piece. Into this mix comes Belinda Lawrence and her cantankerous friend, Hazel Whitby. Hazel is leasing period silverware to the production company and Belinda gets enlisted as a stand-in for the female lead. Two murders occur on set and Belinda, Hazel and their men friends work, sometimes together, sometimes at odds with one another, to solve the mystery. As an interesting side story, Belinda brings her own personal love interests into the mix. Will she go with the freewheeling Australian, Brad, or her long time, proper, British gentleman, Mark? I liked the fact that, while one of the murders was solved, the other death (Was it a murder?) was left unresolved. Did someone else get away with something sinister? That is left up to the reader to determine. I would have given this five stars if I wasn’t nonplused by one of the character’s blabbing to Belinda about her witnessing one of the murders. In my mind, I couldn’t justify the reason except as a device to set up the ending. I wish the author would have come up with a more clever way of leading Belinda to the solution of the mystery. Bloody Ham is the third book in the Belinda Lawrence series. It is an interesting setting with entertaining characters and I recommend it to all those who like a good solid mystery story.
